Ho Ho Oh Boy

Gary Hoey
4 tixs and a parking pass

I got 4 tickets to Gary Hoey’s Christmas show. Hoey is good-not-great guitar player. He’s bounced around from genre to genre, he seems  to have started with surf music, moved through the psychedelic scene, touched on some blues. Now he’s a Christmas guy. He’s got a couple Christmas albums. If you listen to 100.3 WNIC’s <yawn> Christmas programming, you’ll recognize Hoey.

So anyway, I have 4 tickets for the Sunday, December 7th show at Detroit’s City Theatre. I’m going to toss three tickets in the pots. The pot winner can keep or toss them back in the pot. No strings attached. I have a parking pass and I’m offering to drive my Flex.

Everybody Needs Somebody to Love

When the music matters
There were too many players for the table. Tony ended up turning around and leaving. I sat down and Chris was on deck. JonJon came late and crowded in. I busted out at 8:20 and Chris took my seat.

While waiting, my song, “Everybody Needs Somebody to Love,” hit. Funny thing is the band was Blues Brothers but it was the Wilson Pickett version. Oh well, I’ll take it. I collected $10 out of $11 due to me. Evidently, this the new table record. This saved me a buy in. I took Luna seat when he left 9. He left with cash in his pocket and I got some of that good seat karma myself.

As I was leaving, the Blues Brothers’ version came on!
