Emergency Salt Springs Brewery Poker Party

11040171_10153419839608959_8906284609723657878_nI’m calling an emergency poker party at Salt Springs Brewery. It’ll be much like like our Brewery Becker poker party. We will tour the building, it’s a really a cool place. It was built in 1899 and severed as a church for many years. Much of the historic woodwork has been preserved or repurposed. The stain glass has all be preserved and looks great. The dinning hall has really come together the last week or so.

Our chef, Justin Dalenberg, formerly the exec chef at Zingerman’s Roadhouse, will preparing a the menu as well as playing. It’ll probably be pulled pork, brewery made buns, and one Belgian waffle grilled cheese for Tom.

I am working as the Assistant Brew Master. We have brewed 2 IPAs, a pale ale, porter, cherry stout, saison, hefeweisen, and kolsch.

We’ll met at the brewery about 7:00 pm Wednesday, July 15th, to get things started. The address is:
117 S Ann Arbor St
Saline, MI

All medical conditions will need to be treated outside of the building. Someone should drive the the Mystery Machine and park in the side lot.

Without question, I’m still the best thing to happen to Cave Poker.

Crispy’s Texas Hold’em No Limit poker tournament

My friend Chris ‘Crispy’ Fry hosts a card game on the first Friday of every month in Saline. He’s an excellent home brewer and will have some of his tasty brews on tap to share. It’s a no smoking home. They have breaks between rounds, you can go outside for a cig. Please take care of your medical needs before arriving.

Crispy’s next game is this Friday, Nov 7th Dec 5th. It’s probably best that I go the first time to introduce you. So if someone is interested, let me know by 2 pm Friday so I can rearrange my schedule. 734-474-1737

2014 / 15 format proposal

Season broken into four quarters, each 5 or 6 weeks long.

Each quarter yields one Champion who earns a top-four seat at final table. (The four “winners” will be seeded by their season-long totals for the finals.)

Final table “wild card” seats 5 thru 8 are determined by season long +/- totals. (If someone wins more than one quarter, the number of wild card seats would be increased.)

Seats 9 and 10 are up for grabs via the usual pre-final table among the also-rans, eligible part-timers, dumpster divers, cheap women etc.

The three breaks between the quarters would allow for some tournament style events (off the scoring chart) to give us some variety while we freeze our asses off in the garage.

I haven’t looked too deeply at a calendar, but if we start in October this would wrap up by about the time we all get sick of each other. Again.

Just thinking here. Anybody got anything to say?

Joe

Holiday Poker Dates (please vote)

We’ve been talking about having a mid-break tourney. Lets talk dates: Looking at the calendar we have two possible Saturdays, December 28th and January 4th. Please respond to this post with the date that works best for you. Let it be known that Jason can’t make the 28th. Post soon as possible so we can lock down a date.  Specifications will be posted in the coming weeks.
